Jessica "Pooh" Reneé Edwards Jackson was born on January 13, 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Cynthia Edwards and Maurice Jackson. She departed this world on November 3, 2015 at 11:36 a.m. at the age of 29 in Tulsa surrounded by family. She was lovingly raised by her mother and step father whom she fondly, respectfully and with much love called "Mr. Paul".
She attended Memorial High School and ITT Tech in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In search for the right career, Jessica held positions with the Tulsa Sheriff's Department, Bama Pie, Quick Trip and VOA Home Health. Jessica was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Tulsa where she accepted Christ and was baptized.
She had love for each one of her brothers, but there was a very unique and special bond she shared with her brother Maurice. She had an unbreakable bond with her nephew Anthony, mirroring the unique bond she had with his dad.
Although Jessica never gave birth to children, she accepted the responsibility for many and loved all. She had a special relationship and co-parented with Alicia Glover for the children, Michael, Malaiah and Alaya Glover and the late Malik Glover. She had a lifelong friend Nora Washington whom she loved dearly.
In the short time we were privileged to have her with us, she held a special place in many hearts, but none as special as that of her granny, Dorothy Williams, 2 Aunts, Latricia and Sherrie, 3 Uncles, Bill Jr., Raphel, and Derrick. She was known for her beautiful smile and generous heart. Jessica lit up any room she was in and brought laughter to anyone around her. Jessica loved cooking. When she became ill she started a "Bucket List" and was able to check off pursing a career in Culinary Arts, attending an OKC Thunder game and most importantly the renewing of friendships. Jessica had so much love for all that knew her, she may get mad at you, but the love was always there. She was a big sister, friend and confidant to her cousins Cleve, Autumn, Sara and Ronesha Edwards.
Jessica is preceded in death by her Great grandparents, Louis and Hilda Williams, Loverene Ross; cousins, James Jordan "Bleu", Brian Allen and "Lil' Bob" Bobby Williams Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Cynthia Edwards McCain, step father Paul McCain of Tulsa, Oklahoma, father Maurice Jackson of Columbus, Ohio, brothers Maurice Edwards (Lane) Tulsa, Oklahoma, Morris and Derrick Jackson, TeShaun Rosenboro, of Columbus, Ohio. Her Great Grandmother, Willie Allen of Richmond, California, Grandmother Dorothy Williams, Grandfather Billy Edwards Sr., Aunts, Latrica Rose, Sherrie Edwards, Uncles Billy Edwards Jr.(Latisaha) Raphel Edwards, Derrick Ross, all of Tulsa Oklahoma, and a host aunts, uncles cousins family and friends.
Services for Jessica will be at Morning Star Baptist Church, 1014 E. Pine Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11am. With Pastor Rodney Goss officiating.
