Obituary

Jewel Fern Lillard Robertson was born on September 17, 1919 in Yale, Oklahoma to Frank Lillard and Sadie Townsend Lillard. She passed away on November 9, 2018 at the age of 99 years.
She grew up in Yale, and graduated from there. Jewel later moved with her family to the Montana and Wyoming area. While in Wyoming, she met Thurman Robertson. They were married September 12, 1942 in Olympia, Washington.
She was employed as a telephone operator in California, Wyoming, Washington and Stillwater and was a licensed cosmetologist. She also was active as an Avon representative in Tulsa for many years.
Jewel dedicated her life to the Lord. She was an active member of Memorial Drive Methodist Church in Tulsa where she participated in the Women's Society. She later joined Victory Christian Church at which time she and her husband Thurman lead Bible Fellowship in their home for 16 years. She held regular church services at Leisure Village, and Heatheridge Assisted Living, and while living in Broadmore Senior Living Center held monthly Bible Devotional groups as well as started a Gospel Singing group. She also periodically taught Bible Study at Baptist Village in Ada, Oklahoma. She especially enjoyed sharing the meanings of various hymns. As Jewel wrote, "What a joy it was to serve the Lord."
She is survived by two sons: Dale Robertson and wife Melba of O'Fallon, Missouri; son Melvin Robertson and wife Regina of Ada, Oklahoma. She is also survived by four grandsons: Kevin Robertson and wife Kimberly of St. Charles, Missouri; Jonathan Robertson and wife Julie of Maumelle, Arkansas; Scott Robertson and wife Jennifer of Sulphur, Oklahoma; and Brent Robertson and wife Martina of Plano, Texas. She has three great-grandchildren, Blake, Collin and Eltie.
She is preceded in death by her husband Thurman, parents Frank and Sadie Lillard, two sisters, Naomi and Gladys, and two brothers Ken and Earl.
