Jim A. Price was born on July 21, 1939 to John and Juanita Price in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
He attended Tahlequah Schools, graduating in 1957. He enrolled in Northeastern State College graduating from there in 1959 with a teaching degree.
He began teaching in St. Louis, Missouri and working on his Masters at St. Louis University. He taught in St. Louis for five years returning to Tulsa in 1965. He graduated from Northeastern with a Masters Degree in 1965 and has done additional graduate work at Tulsa University and OSU.
He continued teaching in Tulsa until his retirement. He was an elementary, physical education and homeroom teacher. He also taught math at the middle school and driver's education in the high school.
He loved fishing and deer hunting, he spent many an hour in Camp Gruber and on all area lakes chasing Mr. Big Mouth Bass. He was a member of Community Baptist.
Jim was proud of his Cherokee heritage and is a direct descendent of Nancy Ward "Beloved Woman of The Cherokee". He is also the great great great great grandson of Chief John Ross of the Cherokees.
Jim is preceded in death by brother Jerry Price; sister-in-law Paula Kay Williams. He leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate Barbara Price; his sister Beverly Price Cannon and the late Johnny Cannon; sisters-in-law Pamela Jones and husband Ron and Mary Price; brothers-in-law Dan Williams and wife Deb and Ned Williams and wife Carolyn and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from 10:00AM - 8:00PM Thursday, February 4, 2021 with visitation from 3:00PM - 5:00PM at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
