Obituary

Long time Tulsa resident, Jimmy Steve Vernetti, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2016.

Jim was born on September 6, 1937, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Neva and Dominic Vernetti. He graduated from Henryetta High School in 1955 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

In 1962, he joined SunRay/DX Oil Company as a mechanical/civil engineer. He was promoted in 1968 to the position of Manager of Refinery Engineering. He retired from Sun Oil in 1991.
In 1964, he married Frances Ruth Huddart also from Henryetta Oklahoma.

Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Neva Tippie Vernetti; his father, Dominic Vernetti; and his wife of 26 years, Frances Ruth Vernetti, his sister-in-law Carolyn Sherwood Vernetti and three nieces.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Morgan and her husband Doug, Christa Jones and her husband Logan, his grandchildren Austin Morgan, Emma Jones, Daniel Morgan, and Ryan Jones all of Tulsa, his brother Ralph (Buddy) Vernetti; his nephews Bryan Vernetti and Brent Vernetti all of Bentonville, brother-in-law Bill Huddart and wife Betty and nieces Felicia Barron and Teresa Bourne all of Morris.

Jim was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many ecclesiastical positions including serving as Bishop for eight years.

There will be a viewing at Moore Funeral Home 9350 E. 51st in Tulsa on Friday, May 20, from 5 to 7 PM.

There will be a grave side dedication at 10 AM Saturday, May 21 at the West Lawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma.

There will be a Memorial Service at 2 PM May 21 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 3640 S. New Haven Ave, Tulsa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Jim Vernetti to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or the Humanitarian Aid Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories
