Jo Ann Burger, 77, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away at Saint Francis Hospital-South on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Jo Ann was born on March 7, 1943 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Arnold Brewer and Mildred Pearl Crowder Brewer. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister (Mary Ruth Brewer). She is survived by her son, James Burger and his fiance, Shannon of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her daughter, Jennifer Abbey and husband Michael of Owasso, Oklahoma. She has three grandchildren, James Burger II, and wife Meagan of Rindge, New Hampshire, Jessica Metcalf, DVM and husband, Bryan of Owasso, Oklahoma and Peter Burger and his fiance, Alexandria of Somerset, Massachusetts. She also has four great-grandchildren, Bennett Burger, Abbey Metcalf, Walker Metcalf, and Johnny Burger. She is survived by the father of her children, Edward Burger. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jo Ann graduated from Vinita High School in 1961. On April 7, 1962, Jo Ann married Edward Burger and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. When her son and daughter were young, she was a homeroom mother and helped with carpooling to school.

Jo Ann was employed by Albertson's for over 20 years in the bakery department. She made many friends there over the years. She retired in 1996 and spent more time with her family.

She enjoyed traveling to New Mexico, Las Vegas and Massachusetts. She also enjoyed her flowers and working in her yard prior to getting sick. She also enjoyed attending the yearly all schools reunions. She enjoyed watching college football, especially the Oklahoma Sooners.

In her later years, she enjoyed visiting with her friends and family on the phone, going out to eat and her weekly trips to the casino.

Visitation will be 5PM-8PM, Monday, September 28, 2020 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be 10AM, Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel.
