"Reflections of a Well Loved Daughter, Sister, and Friend"
On March 18, 1961 the Lord blessed Charles Holman and Charlie Mae Williams with a daughter known as Jo Nell Holman; the third born of five children.
Jo Nell graduated from Will Rogers High School with the class of 1979. She attended Tulsa Junior College where she received an Associate's Degree. She later moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma where she studied at Oklahoma State University, receiving a degree in Culinary Arts. Jo Nell furthered her education at Kendall College in Evanston, Illinois, receiving a second degree in Culinary Arts. At Kendall College, Jo Nell had the privilege to study under world renowned chefs; Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck.
After such extensive training, her family reaped the many benefits of her gifted hands. Her infamous cakes, pies, and other culinary creations were a favorite at holiday gatherings. When she wasn't cooking, she was often found playing the piano, sewing, and singing her favorite hymns. Jo Nell had a bubbly personality and had the ability to bring joy and laughter to any situation.
Our family salutes Jo Nell for every sacrifice she made to help in times of adversity. She had a generous heart and gave sound advice when needed. Jo Nell was a strong pillar in our family, teaching us to endure hardness as a good soldier. Our family will hold on to God to see us through this time of bereavement.
She was preceded in death by; her father Charles Holman, three siblings, Elder Elton L. Williams, Ivan Holman, Pamela Holman, and her grandfather, Supt. C. W. Williams.
She leaves in the hands of The Comforter: her loving mother; Charlie Mae Holman, a sister; Sheila (William) Jordan, a grandmother; Essie Mae Williams, an aunt; Bettye Williams, two nephews; Elton Shaw and Devan Holman, three nieces; Nicole Williams, Jasmine Williams, and Chantelle Holman, two great nephews, two great nieces, and a host of family and friends.
John 14:27 (KJV)
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
