Joan Wannette Walters was born at home in Oakhurst, Oklahoma on October 26, 1934. Her parents were Charlotte and James Walters. She grew up with one brother, Paul Wayne, and two half bothers, Donnie and Gary Jones.

Joan went to Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, where she met her future husband, Jack Forrest. Since Jack was in the Marine Corp she had to travel from Tulsa to Memphis, Tennessee to be married and told of how she was nervous and scared traveling alone.

Jack and Joan had two daughters, Deborah Kay and Karen Diane. Jack and Joan lived a Christian life and were involved in supporting Will Rogers Methodist Church.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband Jack; her parents, and two brothers. She is survived by daughters Deborah and Karen; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She will be missed but lives on in Heaven.
