Joan Mary Graves, 95, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2021. She was born October 24, 1925, and was raised in Parsons, Kansas. During World War II, she traveled by train to Washington, D.C. to work as a secretary at the Pentagon. She and her husband, Lewis (Louie), shared a long and faithful marriage of 64 years prior to his death in 2011. As a homemaker most of her life, Joan created a loving home for their four children. She remained active in their lives through school, sports, scouts, musical concerts, and church. She also enjoyed her own hobbies as an avid bowler, playing cards and dominoes with friends, doing cross stich, embroidery, quilting and cooking. In her later years, she worked the busy tax seasons as a preparer and kept the accounting books for various individuals. She and Louie spent many winters as "Snowbirds" in Yuma, Arizona with friends. She was an active member at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church until she moved to The Arbors Assisted Living Residence. She was preceded in death by her husband and sister. She is survived by her brother, Ray Perkins, son Walt (Barbara), daughter Cherlene Brant (Steve), son Charles, son Rodney (Kathy), seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 13, at 2:00 P.M. at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145 with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
