CHISM, Joan Marie (Murray), Homemaker, died Friday, March 11, 2022. She was born October 27, 1940, in Ft. Smith, AR, to Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Charles Murray of Van Buren, AR. When the war (WWII) began, her father moved his daughters near his parents in Henryetta, OK while he served in the US Navy.

On September 2, 1961, Joan married her OSU sweetheart Mikel Bay Chism. Of this marriage, three children were born. Darlene Maree Chism (Susan Kemman) of St. Cloud, FL, Charlene Leigh (Chism) Ballard and husband, Frederick Vernon (Rick), and Douglas Mikel Chism and wife, Tina, both of Tulsa, OK; and she is survived by two grandsons, Wes Solem and Connor Chism; two granddaughters, Peyton and Gentry Ballard. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mikel in 2018 and her parents.
