Joanne Louise Stephens Stadler (Bezinque), 86, of Tulsa, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021. She is a native Tulsan, graduated from Tulsa Central High School and Oklahoma A & M College. She earned her Masters in Counseling and Guidance from NSU. At Stillwater, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi, President of the YMCA and Aquatic Club, Omnicon Nu and Mortar Board.
She married Tom A. Bezinque while in college. They had three children: Mark, Traci, and Kelly; Tom passed away in 1994. In 2000 she married Edward P. Stadler and they were blessed with 14 years together before he passed in 2014.
She was a member of OEA, NEA, Retired Teachers Association, and Asbury UMC. She taught school and was a counselor in Perry, Duncan, Tulsa and Broken Arrow, OK, Natoma, KS and Corpus Christie and Beeville, TX. She taught and directed a Pre-School for Salk Elementary, Tulsa and Boston Avenue UMC. In 1998 she was selected as the State of Oklahoma PTA Teacher of the Year.
Joanne was a very caring, loving, energetic, tenacious lady. She felt blessed to live, love and enjoy her walk with the Lord, her family, friends, life with her husband Ed. She enjoyed being a wife, mom, grandmom, great-grandmom and serving the Lord to the fullest.
Joanne is preceded in death by her mother, Sallie (Chandler Stephens) Curry; father, Charles E. "Ted" Stephens; sister, LaVerne Willis; brothers, Vernon Avery Stephens and Don E. Stephens; husbands, Thomas A. Bezinque and Edward P. Stadler; and sons, Tony Stadler and Tim Stadler.
She is survived by her son, Mark Bezinque; daughters, Traci (Bezinque) Ferguson and husband Brian, Kelly (Bezinque Honas) Keller and husband Dale, Trudy Espinoza and husband Tim and Pat Stadler. Sister-in-laws, Gail Stephens and Shirley Curry; grandchildren, Bobby Bezinque, Megan Honas, Ethan Honas, Ammon Wells, Zach Wells, Jennifer Hughes, Kelly Hughes, Barbara Espinoza, T.J. Espinoza and wife Michelle, Greg Espinoza and wife Alice, Steven Stadler and Brian Stadler. Great-grandchildren, Braxton, Jayce, T.C., Morgana, Jude, Petra, Tamara Joy and Rowyn.
Memorial service will be 11AM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6767 S Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK. Asbury UMC will be web casting the service on their website at https://asbury6767.online.church/
