Was raised in Eastern Oklahoma, around and in new Lima, Oklahoma, until 1942, when his family moved to a farm, four miles south of Sentinel. In 1 944, they moved into Sentinel. Was baptized into the church in 1946. Started his working career at age nine. Delivered the Wewoka newspaper in New Lima and Old Lima, until they moved. At age fourteen chopped cotton for 10 cents per hour, and continued working on farms until he graduated from high School at Sentinel. Then worked on a farm ranch near Dumas, Texas, until he received a draft notice for the army, Returned to Sentinel and worked at Rogers Lumber Company until drafted into the service. Took his training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After finishing training was assigned to headquarters of 6th armored division. Served as athletic director, film training for new recruits, and driver of light vehicles, until discharged.

Returning to Sentinel, made a confession of sins at the church in Sentinel. Worked at Rogers lumber until transferred to Coffeyville, as assistance manager. While living in Coffeyville, he drove to Joplin and Burkhart to attend service. Transferred to Lebanon, MO. As assistance manager.

In 1956 entered the selling field with Nation Life and Accident Insurance Company, He and Junior Vanstavern drove to Benton street Church in Springfield to teach. At that time there were only six members and four small children attending and no teachers. He taught in many congregations around Lebanon. He met Loretta Snow while selling insurance. Dated her for six months and she was baptized into the church. Were married August 20, 1956. Was leading in sale for the company and transferred to Springfield as staff manager. Served two years as staff manager. Saw an advantage in different lines of insurance and changed to Farmers insurance group for five years. Attended the north Benton ave. congregation, then we moved to Seminole street.
Then promoted and taught the Dale Carnegie human relation course and the sales course.
Moved to Joplin as territory manager of south west Missouri, and south east Kansas, and North east Okla.

In 1974 returned to Fanners insurance as territory manager of north east Oklahoma, and moved to Claremore. Then returned to sales. Was among the top salesmen in the district. Attended many college courses and sales courses over the years. Retired December 1996. Loved to garden and watch things grow. When it came to gathering, had competition with deer, rabbits and squirrels. His wife would say, they have to eat also.

One of the most important things to him was studying the bible. When attending the Miami congregation, he determined to study the New Testament verse by verse. It took seven years to complete it, as he looked up the meanings of the old words and original translations. Also finished some old testament books. He has is his library copies of his studies. Was a great joy and educational. After this started over tying together parallel verses.

He set and goal of life, to be as Daniel, not to defile himself in action, thought, or words. Also like Ezra, to know the word and teach it. Like Samuel, not let a word of God drop, and as Christ to walk humbly before all.

May God bless you as he has me.
