JoEllen "Jody" (True) Quinten, 83, stepped into eternity Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living Community in Broken Arrow, OK.

Jody was born on December 27, 1934 in Tulsa to Harry and Bess (Slankard) True. Jody graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK. where she made lifelong friends. After high school she attended and earned her bachelors degree from Oklahoma A & M, as it was called then. She remained a lifelong OSU fan and loved her Pokes! On March 10, 1963 she married the love of her life, Danny Lee "Dan" Quinten.

Jody was a creative force, making dresses for many weddings and proms and cooking meals for all sorts of occasions. Her primary artistic love was ceramics. Jody taught classes out of her home and painted countless pieces for school sports teams, banquets, church functions, and many more. Many of her beautiful pieces are still cherished by those who received them. Jody was the definition of a joyful servant. Her ceramic classes were as much about mentoring and life lessons as they were about brush strokes and colors. She was welcoming and warm and loved her house full of kids of all ages, becoming a second mom to many. Jody and Dan were charter members of two churches, Eastwood Baptist and Rivendell Fellowship.

She is survived by her daughter Laura Crawford and husband Brian; her son Lindy Quinten and wife Jenni; her grandchildren Brice and Brinn Crawford, Caedmon and Chael Quinten; her sister Martha (True) Nowland and a host of nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces, cousins, and in laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bess True, husband of 49 years, Dan, and brother, Ron True.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 11:00 AM Eastwood Baptist Church, 948 S 91st E Ave, Tulsa, OK. Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E 51st, Tulsa, OK.
