JOHN "JACK" BLACKFORD CAMDEN passed away from
melanoma cancer on Friday, January 2, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jack was born on September 27, 1944 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to
Graham Blackford Camden and Virginia Ann (Jones) Camden. He
graduated from Thomas Edison High School and Westminster College
in Fulton, Missouri, where he was a member of SAE. He spent 4 years
in the United States Air Force in the Strategic Air Command, 554th
Aerospace Reconnaissance Technical Wing and had a career as a Real
Estate Appraiser in Tulsa.
Jack was active in Alcoholics Anonymous and Special Olympics Oklahoma
(Team Tulsa). As both an AA Sponsor, and father of special needs daughter
Sarah, Jack worked tirelessly, and developed many lasting friendships.
He is survived by two daughters, Amy (Camden) Cojeen (husband Chris)
and Sarah Blakeslee Camden, one sister Jane (Camden) Meacham and
husband, Thomas, two grandsons, Robert Aidan and John Evan Cojeen,
two nephews, Scott and Brian Meacham and three grand-nieces,
Camden, Grace and Lucy Meacham.
He was preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Maria (Woods)
Todd.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p. m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Yale Avenue
Christian Church with interment at a later date at the Fort Gibson National
Cemetery in the Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Special Olympics Oklahoma.
