John Dillard Shields, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed July 25th of 2016 at 6:05pm in his home surrounded by his children and wife. He was born in Waco, Texas, July 9th of 1946 and was 70 at the time of his death. He is preceded in death by his father John Dillard Shields, Sr. his mother Mabel Albritton Shields, and his sister Sandra Shields Marse.

Chapel services will be at 10am, August 5th at Asbury United Methodist Church in the Mason Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was in the Texas National Guard, a graduate of the University of Texas-Austin, proud member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, a member of the Tulsa Rotary, Tulsa Men's Club, Great Decisions Men's Club, Asbury United Methodist Church, and a member of Trout Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife Brenda "B Bear" Shields, his daughter Lyndia "Lynn" Shields Langston and her husband Richard "Bigfoot" Andrew Langston, his son Robert "Roberto" Eugene Shields, his step-daughters Lisa McMenamy and Lana "Doe Doe" Tatum, his sister Shirley Smith and husband Marlis Sr, his grandchildren Christian "Stinkbug" Steven Waldroop McMenamy, Ethan "Booboo" Tatum McMenamy, Rebyl "Bubbles" Lynn Shields, Madeleine "Madeloney" Claire Sweden Langston, Meryn "Doodlebug" Anna Albritton Langston, and nieces and nephews Marlis Smith Jr, Timothy Smith, Melinda Smith Haymons, Patrick Marse, and Susan Marse Backus.
