John Lewis Disher passed away on December 1, 2025. He was born on August 4, 1947, in Hudson, New York, To Pershing and Mary Jo Disher. He had a twin sister Betty Bates. He leaves behind his wife Sherry Disher of Tulsa Oklahoma. Son Jeff Disher and wife Christina Disher of Jenks Oklahoma. Grandchildren Savannah Virostko of Broken Arrow. Presley Brooke and Clayton John Gene Disher of Jenks. Caleb and Rayne Smith of Tulsa. Great grandchild Lucas Virostko of Broken Arrow.
The family moved to Oklahoma when John and Betty were toddlers. They settled in Collinsville Oklahoma where he attended grade school. He graduated from McLain High School. John then attended OSU in Stillwater Oklahoma before joining the war.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as an E-5, and he carried those years with him for the rest of his life. His service shaped him in discipline, loyalty, and appreciation for life.
For more than four decades, he poured his heart into the pipeline industry, serving as Vice President of Allan Edwards. He loved the people he worked with and led with fairness, honesty, and respect. He was a boss, and he was a friend.
John had many passions. He loved cigars, hunting, and fishing. He loved fast cars, especially Corvettes. He loved cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners, loved Christmas, and loved reading his newspapers every day.
What defined him most wasn't what he did but who he was. He was honest and fair. He made lifelong friends. People trusted him. He told the truth, even when it was hard.
He lived his life with quiet strength, a steady hand, and a purpose that never wavered.
He was a Christian and right with his Maker, and that gives us peace.
As we say goodbye, we hold onto his legacy-his work ethic, his humor, his strength, and his love. He leaves a mark that will never fade.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to John 3:16 Mission.
