John Ross 'Dune' Beard, Jr. 90 died peacefully Thursday, February 13, 2014 surrounded by his children. He was born on May 17, 1923 to Ross and Mildred Beard. Ross was preceded in death by Yvonne his wife of 63 years. He is survived by his brothers Bud and Bill and sister Margie, his children Johnny, Deni Newton and husband Larry, Jimmy and wife Julie, Jamie Seigel and husband Andy, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A Tulsa native, he graduated from Central High School and served in World War II. Upon return to Tulsa, he married Yvonne Davis and started his life- long auto parts and salvage business which he operated for over 50 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
