John Edward England, 94, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Friday, October 22, 1976, at Park Terrace Nursing Home, Tulsa, OK. He was born on Tuesday, July 18, 1882, in Kingston upon Hull Unitary Authority, Cottingham Village, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, to Daniel B. England and Mary Ann (Denton) England. Mr. England was a resident of Tulsa, OK, since 1929, and married to Emma (Baker) England. John was proud to have served as one of our nation's finest as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army in World War I. He was a member of Will Rogers United Methodist Church, Carson-Wilson Post, American Legion, 32nd degree Mason-K.C.C.H., Tulsa Lodge #71, Shriner Tulsa Consistory, Knights Templar, and World War I Barracks. John is survived by his wife, Emma, of the home; four daughters, Bernice England of the home, Virginia England, Tulsa, OK, Genevieve Lee, Midwest City, and Ruth Hautala, Brainerd, MN; three sons, Rev. Harry England, Hobart, OK, Ernest England, Collinsville, OK, and Robert England Tulsa, OK; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Fred England; grandson, Robert Clark; and his parents.
