In loving memory of John Ermis, born on June 14th, 1955, to Louis and Florene Ermis in San Antionio, Texas and raised in Oklahoma. He met his wife Velvet at the young age of 10. When Velvet was 12 years old, she knew she was going to marry him, and they did in 1976. They were married for 48 years and had 3 beautiful daughters together, 8 grandkids and 2 great grandkids.
In his early years he was a Stone Mason, leaving his mark at Bell's Amusement Park with the wall in front of the log ride as well as many homes and structures around the Tulsa area. He later became a Truck Driver, traveling all over the country. He started and ran his own trucking business until October of 2023. He devoted his whole life to his family and did everything to make sure they were provided for. He is the most loyal man who loved one woman for all his life. John is selfless, always caring for others. He would always lend a helping hand never expecting anything in return. He has a witty sense of humor and is always smiling. He always knew how to make someone laugh even in hard times. He was a handyman, that could fix and build anything. He taught his girls to be independent and how to make repairs themselves. When driving or even just sitting at home he would listen to Willie's Roadhouse on XM Radio. He is a strong and hardworking man who would never miss a day of work. So devoted to work that we are having his service on a Saturday because he wouldn't want anyone to miss work for him.
John is survived by his wife Velvet Ermis, his three daughters Dana Ermis, Christi Ermis-Harding, and her husband Paul Harding, Stephanie Owens, and her husband John Owens, his eight grandchildren Hailey Ermis, Sidnee Crase-Owens, Blake Ermis, Michael Lee, Nicole Dunmire, Jayden Owens, Ethan Ermis and Jessica Ermis, his two great grandchildren Addilyn Ogg and Denver Davis, four siblings Virginia, Louis "Sonnie", Katherine, and Margie and many extended family and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents and his two siblings Marie and David Ermis.
