Obituary

On April 5th, 1969 John Wesley Littrell, "John-Jon" was born to Robert and Charlotte Littrell of Coweta, Oklahoma. Since birth he was always smiling and happy, if you knew John-Jon, you knew Love. From the beginning John was destined to live life differently - uniquely, individually, joyfully! John lived his life every single moment of every single day to its fullest. He did so with the assistance, and day-to-day care, of a loving and dedicated staff who also became his family.

What a beautiful life! From the earliest of ages John has known and loved God. For several years John has been a member of the Eastland Assembly of God Church where he looked forward to going and enjoying worship. John attended and completed formal education in Tulsa Public Schools. In adulthood, John cheerfully worked for 21 years at the M.e.t. Recycling Depot. John traveled, he bowled, he danced, he enjoyed writing and always had his "paperwork" to do...pages and pages of it, and he loved spending the holidays with his family. John lived a full and well-rounded life. A life shared with his lifelong buddy, companion, and friend, Minky (Deminkyn Martin).

John is survived by his sister, Clarissa" Lady" Jones (Gary Rose) of Tulsa, OK, his brothers, Robert T. Jones (Marie) of Worcester, MA, and Arthur "Mike" Littrell, of Tulsa OK, his sisters, Hattye Littrell, of Tulsa, OK and Seneece Littrell, of Tulsa, OK, his beloved nieces and nephews, Marquisha Littrell, Donnie Littrell (Marva Jean), Edward Littrell-Coleman, Ryan Littrell-Coleman, Melanie Lee, and Skip Lee, Jr, three great-nephews and a great-niece, along with a host of extended family and friends dear to his heart including the staff of Central State Community Care that made a house his home, Bridget Reed, Shaunta Smith, Mike Laws, Kelly Morrison, Linda Armstead and Kathy Frazier. When illness struck the staff was truly heartbroken and continued to provide John with impeccable care with the aide of the Oklahoma Cancer Specialist and Research Institute to whom we extend special thanks. When the need for additional care arose the staff of Seasons Hospice were exceptional. John's nurses, Dani LaBeau, Rena Hutchinson, and Lexi Heavener were particularly loving and supportive to John, his family, and the staff.

John was a special gift, a light to all he met. He will be greatly missed. In his honor we must now continue his example for love of people and joy for life as we journey on, because - if you knew John, you knew Love.
