John Edward Marshall passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2023 at the age of 96. He was born November 11th, 1926, in Lafayette, IN, to Walter S. Marshall and Ethel (Snyder) Marshall. He was married to Margaret Ireland, also of Lafayette, on February 15th, 1947.

John graduated from Jefferson High School in 1945, and then attended Purdue University where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He was a veteran of the Second World War as a member of the Army Air Corp, and worked for American Airlines until his retirement. John has been a member of Asbury Church since 1969 where he taught several classes. He enjoyed traveling across the globe and was particularly fond of visiting the Mediterranean and Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife; and his brother, Robert. John is survived by his children: his daughter Sharon Grimes and husband Harvey, his son John David Marshall, and his daughter Carol Holt and husband Joseph Holt; four grandchildren; Heather, Joe, Mark, and Greg, and six great-grandchildren Malibu, Dakota, Christian, Jeckobi, Reagan, and Carter.

Funeral services for John will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Chapel of Saints Valley in Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. John will lie in-state beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30th, at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home.
