John Mills Shannon, 45, died early July 4th in the hospital. He will be missed by those that loved him: his dad, John W. Shannon, Tulsa; his sisters, Debbie Shannon, Waterville, ME; Susan DeLozier, Chelsea, OK and her husband, Mark; his nieces, Michelle Smith, Allentown, PA and Jennifer Smith, Rochester, NY and his true friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Shannon, his only aunt and his grandparents.
Graduating from Hale High School in 1986, John's passion was music. He played the guitar and bass. He was in several bands in his lifetime including the Illegitimate Sons of Jackie 0 , a Tulsa punk rock band and Sleepy Bo'Weevil in Portland, Maine.
John had a compassionate, caring and nurturing personality. When living in Portland from 1994 -2003, he worked as a residential group home care giver of blind adults with mental & physical handicaps. He also had an intellectual and philosophical side to him. He was articulate and knowledgeable on many subjects.
His family will hold a private memorial this weekend and wishes to thank those that were John's true and real friends, crossed his path and shared in his life. Moore's Southlawn 663-2233
