John Doyle Newell, 83, of Tulsa, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015. He was born June 21, 1932 in Charleston, AR to Leo and Orena Newell. He worked for Southwestern Bell for 33 years as a yellow page salesman. Doyle enjoyed golf, RV camping, the lake and fishing. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Square Dancing Club. Doyle is survived by his children Patricia Ann Purdy of Tulsa, Connie Anderson and her husband David of Tulsa, 4 granddaughters Mindy Anderson, Christie Anderson, Lacey Purdy, Chelsey Mercer, 2 great-grandsons Brady Anderson, Jaiden Purdy, 1 great-granddaughter Emma Mercer and his sister Dorothy Williams and her husband Truman of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Pearl Newell; his parents; and his twin brother Carl Newell during the Korean War.
