In loving memory of John Owens, a devoted family man who was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Born on November 22, 1931. At an early age and throughout his entire life, he brought joy and love to everyone around him. He was a graduate of Regis College. He married Barbara Mellow on August 13, 1960, after they met while working for the FBI. Their love story led to a beautiful marriage that spanned 63 years and blessed them with four wonderful children, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

John and Barbara relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1964 where he started a new job and began working for Rockwell International. He had a very successful 27-year career which culminated with him being the head of security. His expertise, leadership, and commitment while working made a lasting impact on all those he worked with at the company.

John enjoyed many things outside of work, he was a "Jack of all Trades" before YouTube existed. He was a skilled craftsman and woodworker, constructing many things in his workshop which included pieces of furniture that were cherished and used by those in the family. He supported youth soccer as a coach and referee, instilling a love for the sport in many young players. He had a passion for camping and shared his love for the outdoors with his family. He
also enjoyed teaching his children how to fish, creating many lasting memories for them on the water. He was actively involved in the Girl Scouts, supporting his daughters and inspiring other young girls to reach for their dreams.

What described John best is that he was a man of faith and a family man. His greatest passion was spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He served as a beacon in the family with regards to his Catholic faith and mentored others to develop it. He was always there for his children and grandchildren, dedicating his time and energy to them, regardless of their many endeavors; from sports, school, catechumen classes to scouts, John was always available to provide direction and support.

John is survived by his sister Pat, his wife Barbara, his children Lynn and her husband Joel, Kristy and her husband Kelly, Greg and his wife Beth, and Johnny and his wife Stephanie, his grandkids Sarah, Eric, Amanda, Bryan, Michael, Meredith, Jason, Madeline, Alex, Aidan, Sidnee and Jayden and his great grandchildren Kennedy, Grant, Sterling, Zyler, Zayde, Stanley, Seren and Denver. John leaves behind a legacy of faith, family and love which will be cherished by all who knew him well. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a great Husband, Dad, Papa, and Friend. May the spirit of John always live in our hearts and souls.

The funeral service will be held at Saint Clements Catholic Church on January 4th at 1PM
