John H. Smith

Born in Cherokee, Oklahoma to J. Herbert and Mary Smith on June 27, 1931. Moved to Tulsa Oklahoma with parents at age 12. He attended Will Rogers High School, Oklahoma University, & Oklahoma Medical School. John met Shirley Ann Adams the Summer of 1954. They married May 31, 1955 & were 2 months short of celebrating their 60th anniversary at the time of his death.

John was a founding father of Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center and focused on Microsurgery of the hand the last ten years of his practice. John found great joy working in his garden and soon became a Master Gardener. He also enjoyed fishing, flying and his family. He twirled his lovely wife around on the ball room floor for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann, sister, Jan King, three daughters, six grandchildren and 3.5 great-grandchildren (one is on the way!!). Visitation 5-7 P.M., Friday, April 3, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Asbury United Methodist Church-Mason Chapel, 6767 S. Mingo, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
