Story, John G., 86, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014. John was born June 26, 1928, Rock Springs, WY to John Michael & Mary Julia (Tomko) Story.
After graduating high school, John joined the Army Air Corp. and served in Okinawa at the end of WWII. After the service he returned home and earned his BS & Masters Degrees in Civil Engineering at the University of Wyoming. He began his career with Amoco Oil, where he met Beverly Eidschun. John and Beverly married on November 16, 1957 and together with their children J. Mark and Leslie, worked and lived in cities throughout United States & Canada working for Amoco. John retired in 1985 after 32 years with the company.
John was a true Renaissance man. He enjoyed the beauty of Wyoming and its fly fishing and created an abundant collection of art in woodworking, painting, woodcarving and cooking. He loved listening to jazz music and dancing with Beverly.
John is survived by his wife, Beverly, son J. Mark and his wife Fran, Houston, daughter, Leslie, Tulsa; Grandchildren Taylor & Ford Story, TX., his sister: Rosemary Mathers, Denver, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Service 10 A.M. Saturday, September 6, 2014, Memorial Park
