John D. Strong, Jr., 79, passed away suddenly at home in Tulsa, May 18, 2015. He was the son of John Dr. Strong and Mary I. Strong.
John graduated from Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School. He served honorably on active duty in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant in the Armor Branch.
He was the Vice-President of Citicorp in New York for many years and Executive Vice President of the Fourth National Bank of Tulsa (presently the Bank of America) until his retirement. John was one of the original trustees of the Grace & Franklin Bernsen Foundation until his death.
Over the years he served on numerous boards, some including the Tulsa Boys Home, American Red Cross, Family & Children's Services, Parent Child Center, Arts & Humanities Council and the Tulsa Opera.
John is survived by his wife, Bonnie Strong, two sons; John D. Strong, III & Christopher I. Strong, stepson, Nils Anderson and several grandchildren and three Siblings; Cyrus Strong, Elizabeth S. Dow & Katherine S. Schlessinger and many Nieces and Nephews.
