John T. Joyner, 84, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, in Tulsa, OK. He was born on Friday, October 5, 1934, in Ola, GA. John was married to Helen (Kelley) Joyner for 25 years. He retired after 32 years of service as a computer analyst for Amoco. While living in Panama City, FL for 23 years, John was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge. John also enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, walks on the beach and spending time with family. John is survived by his wife; his children with his first wife; 2 sons, Scott and David Joyner; daughter, Jennifer Perry; 3 grandchildren, Sunday, Megan and Matt; great-grandson, Adrien Roesel; 2 brothers, Carlton Joyner and David Joyner; several nieces and nephews; stepson, Charles Poindexter and wife, Sally; 2 stepdaughters, Connie Neely and husband Philip, Marilyn Justice and husband, Marti; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 6 siblings. John and Helen returned to Tulsa in 2017, after he started having health problems. John will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
