John Faulkner Joyner was born on August 27, 1939 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Ernest and Pansy Joyner and passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 81.
John met his treasured wife of 59 years, Sharon, in high school. John and Sharon were married in 1961 and spent the first 16 years of marriage in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1977, John and Sharon moved to Dallas, Texas, where they resided until his time of death. John was an entrepreneur. He started and owned Lincay Company before ultimately founding JJ Marketing, which he ran until his time of death.
John is survived by his wife, Sharon Joyner of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law Shirley Quintero of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Bill Todd of Gillette, Wyoming; nephews, Scott Fowler of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Trent Fowler and wife Mercedes of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Alan Todd and wife Cheri of Moore, Oklahoma; Dana Urman and husband Steve of Gillette, Wyoming; John Todd and wife Michelle of McKinney, Texas; nieces, Kim Gifford of Owasso, Oklahoma, Kristin Makhani and husband Jogi of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great-nephews, John Gifford, Jason Gifford, Spencer Makhani, Cameron Todd, Forrest Todd, Chris Urman, Casey Urman, Jonathan Urman; great-nieces, Jana Nosak, Avery Makhani, Katie Todd; and many other great-great-nephews and nieces.
John was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ernest and Pansy Joyner of Bixby, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Denalta Phillips of Tulsa, Oklahoma, sister, Sue Todd of Gillette, Wyoming, and niece Felicia Fowler of Dallas, Texas.
John was vivacious, energetic, fun, talented and was adored by anyone lucky enough to know him. He was known for his love of cars, the Dallas Cowboys, and his eye for decor. We will forever cherish his spirit, his kindness, his laughter, his love for his family and friends and his wonderful sense of humor.
