Johnnie Lee Pride, 78, of Tulsa, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017. He was born July 21, 1938 in Union Springs, AL to Moses
and Mary Lou Pride. Mary Lou later married William Boyd who raised Johnnie. He graduated from Central High School in Syracuse, NY. He served in the Navy for 26 years and retired as a mechanic. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church, was church deacon, usher and administrative director. He enjoyed rebuilding Ford Mustangs and building model ships. Johnnie is survived by his wife of 24 years, Luella Marie Pride; his children, Johnny Pride (Debra) of San Diego, CA; Kim Pride of San Diego, CA; Elizabeth Fuller (Sean) of San Diego, CA; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; his siblings, William Pride (Karen) of DE; Eulas G. Boyd (Sa: Ian Sai) of Rochester, NY; Verline Johnson of NJ; Geraldine Whitehead of CT; Marian Bridges of Orlando, FL; Mary Elizabeth Glasglow of Syracuse, NY; and Joann Ditumbule of Syracuse, NY; Aunt Bessie Robertson of GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Ellouise Pride; daughter, Angela Hill; 3 sisters, Orie Dee Pride; Lillie Belle Owens; Nomi Pride; and 1 brother, Harlow Boyd, Sr.
