Johnson Wolf Thorne D.D.S. passed away from this life November 1, 2015 at the early age of 48 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma. "John" was born June 13, 1967 in Shawano Wisconsin. He was adopted as an infant by Dr. Thomas and Margaret Thorne in Neosho, Missouri. John grew up and graduated from Neosho High School and then attended Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Continuing his love for sports he participated on the winning track team and played on the early team of the beloved Redmen soccer club. He also participated in ROTC and was proud of his Army brothers.
At NSU John met his wife Heather Jo Madison and married her on August 1, 1989. After graduating NSU, John and Heather moved to Edmond, Oklahoma so John could attend University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Upon graduation they moved to Tulsa where he was in private practice. After working many years with wonderful staff and patients, John went to work for Cherokee Nation Dental Services. He always felt he was giving back and helping his Native American Heritage.
John's proudest achievement was the birth of his beautiful triplets. Andrew Thomas, Tala Madison and Jacob Wolf Thorne. They were the joy of his life. Every minute of his time was spent coaching the children, attending their soccer games, cross country/track meets, school activities and attending band competitions/ football games. John had a passion for life, his wife, his children, his family, his coworkers, his friends, his patients, NSU, OU sporting teams, the beach, his front porch and of course all his soccer friends who became his brothers throughout the years.
John is survived by his wife of 26 years Heather Jo. His sons Andrew and Jacob and daughter Tala M. all of Tulsa; Brothers Tom and wife Patty, Terrell and wife Dana, Joe Bessenbacher and wife Gloria, sisters Sis Haskins and Tammy Oscar, mother-in-law Linda Madison, sister -in-law Jolinda Madison and brother-in-law Adam Madison. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Dr. Thomas and Margaret Thorne, brother Jerry "Bear" and Jim Thorne, stepmother Birdie Toon and father-in-law Jerry Madison.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday November 6, at Moore's Southlawn 9350 E 51st Tulsa. Services will be held 10am Saturday November 7th at First United Methodist Church downtown Tulsa.
