Obituary

Joseph Carl Gormley, 91, of Tulsa passed away Wednesday November 23, 2022. He was born October 17, 1931, in Okmulgee, OK to Joseph and Lenora (Lunney) Gormley. He graduated in 1949 from St. Anthony's in Okmulgee. He was married to Theresa (Boecker) Gormley for over 61 years, and he missed her greatly since her passing last year. Joseph worked for Cities Service and Citgo for over thirty years. Joseph lived a life of faith and service. He was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for over fifty years. He volunteered at Catholic Charities, Meals on Wheels, the Serra Club, and was a Knight of Columbus for a number of years. He also delivered blood for the Red Cross until just a few years ago. He was passionate about his friends and family. He was involved with all ten of his grandkids and their activities. He was an avid card player and was up for a game of Scottish Bridge any time, anywhere, and he usually won. He loved sports and especially the Bishop Kelley Comets where he was a season pass holder for 47 years. He is survived by his children Mark Gormley and wife Karen of Bartlesville, Tony Gormley and wife Brenda of Wichita, KS, Susan Limekiller and husband David of Tulsa; ten grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Pius X Endowment.
A Rosary will be held 7:00 PM Monday, December 5, 2022, and the Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Both will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church 1727 South 75th East Ave., Tulsa, OK .
