Joseph Eli Landry was born on August 2, 1934 to Joseph Linton and Octavia Fontenot Landry in Eunice, Louisiana. He left home at the age of fifteen to work in the rice fields in Texas before traveling to California, where he met and married his first wife, Victoria Thierry. They had four children, Lisa Ana Landry, Elizabeth Nina Landry Hill, Andrea Marie Landry Matthews, and Dominic Phillip Landry. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and Eli worked for St. John Hospital and then at Sears repairing appliances, retiring in 1995. Eli met Dolores Holland at St. Bernard`s Church and they were married in 1997. Eli left behind 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as Dolores' 6 children and 11 grandchildren. Eli had been a most faithful Catholic all his life.
The rosary service for Eli will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 6:00 PM and the funeral mass will be on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Both will be held at the Church of the Madalene, 3188 E 22nd Street, Tulsa, OK 74114.
