Obituary

WINFIELD, Joseph Loron, 92, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Broken Arrow, OK. Born September 2, 1926 in Kansas, OK to Francis Oren and Minnie Susan (Bolch) Winfield, the second child of one girl and four boys.
Loron attended grade school and high school in Kansas, OK where he graduated in May, 1945. He joined the Army in June, 1945 and was discharged in December, 1946. He did basic training at Camp Crowder, Mo, attended Medical Technician School and Training in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Camp Carson, CO. In 1946, he was transferred to Camp Stoneman, CA and later to Fort Mason in San Francisco, CA and assigned to the USAT General MM Patrick as a medical technician where he served when discharged in December, 1946.
Loron attended and graduated from the Oklahoma School of Accounting in Tulsa in 1948. In the springs of 1948, he met Doris Oldham who had grownup in Blue Jacket, OK, and on February 5, 1949, they were married in her parents' home in Blue Jacket. To that union was born a son, Steven Doyle, who died as a result of an auto accident while they were living in Denver, Co at the age of 16 � yrs old. Steven was returned to Tulsa for interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Loron worked for Deep Rock Oil Corporation and Blackwell Oil & Gas until Blackwell was purchased by Amax Petroleum in 1952, continuing with Amax Petroleum, working in Denver, CO and Houston, TX until 1977 when he resigned from Amax and returned to Tulsa. He continued work here in Tulsa until retiring in 1992.
Loron was saved and baptized soon after he and Doris were married. He started attending Eastland Baptist Church in 1994 and enjoyed every Sunday & Wednesday that he was able to attend. He enjoyed very much doing work at the church starting with yardwork, then as night watchman, driving the carts and being a greeter.
Viewing will be 10AM-8PM, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 and Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. There will be a private interment. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
