Obituary
Josephine Hilda Casey peacefully passed away August 29, 2023 in the comforts of her home in Skiatook.
She was born December 11, 1939 in Cheyenne, WY to Leonard Ekstrom and Alice Forsling-Ekstrom. She grew up on a sheep ranch, and received her education in Colorado; graduating from Yampa High School in 1957 and furthered education at Colorado Women's College, then Colorado State university.
She married Carl Forster, who retired from the navy in 1977, stationed in Florida. They had three children, Paul Forster, Laura Lee Forster and Mary Forster-Briggs. Carl preceded her in death.
She met Charles Lee Casey, and they were soon married in 1987. They began their life in Tulsa, OK. She worked and retired at INCOG. She was very active in her faith, church and community. Jo loved spending time outside and with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Laura Lee Forster; Carl Forster; Charles Casey; and Paul Forster.
She is survived by her sisters Lenore Whitmore of CO, Sonja Honnen of CO and Mary Benware of WI; daughter, Mary Briggs and husband Rodney Briggs of OK; granddaughter, Jessica Ely and husband Daniel Ely of OK; granddaughter, Mariah Ognev and husband Dmitrii Ognev of WY; and the loves of her life, her great-grandchildren; "her best friend" Max Ely and Lola Ely of OK.
The family of Josephine Casey entrusted her care and services to Moore Funeral Homes.
The celebration of life was led by Rev. Kathy Brown, Rev. Emily Robnett and music by organist, Phyllis Swift and soloist, Steven Law.
