Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua Lee Wilson, a vibrant spirit who embraced life to the fullest. Josh left us on January 23, 2025 at the age of 36, leaving behind a legacy of love and friendship that will forever be cherished. His career as an Insurance Claims Adjuster allowed Josh to make deep connections to those around him

Born on October 31, 1988 in Claremore, Oklahoma Josh was a true child of the sun and sea. From a young age, he developed a profound love for the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing with his father and exploring the beauty of nature. Whether it was casting a line into the water or working in the shop, Josh found joy in every moment spent with his dad, learning the value of hard work and the importance of craftsmanship.

Josh had an undeniable passion for the water. He often lived aboard his various sailboats, reveling in the freedom that the ocean provided. The gentle sway of the waves and the salty breeze were where he felt most at home. His love for boating was matched only by his fondness for long walks on the beach, where he could unwind and connect with the beauty of the world around him. The sound of the surf and the warmth of the sun on his skin brought him immense joy, and he often shared these peaceful moments with friends and family.

One of Josh's most endearing qualities was his ability to make everyone feel special. He had a gift for connecting with people, and his infectious laughter and warm spirit made it seem like you were his best friend, no matter how long you had known him. His kindness knew no bounds, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a story that would bring a smile to your face.

Josh is survived by his loving parents, Danny and Tammy Wilson; his sister, Mandy; his fiance, Kenny Alyse; his grandmother, Earleen Castleberry; his aunts and uncles, Nicole Hannabass, Christy Castleberry and Kathy Maher, Cassie Castleberry, John and Michelle Wilson, Maxine and Don Street; his cousins, Brya Stephens, Caleb Hannabass, Ellie Hannabass, Leighanne Castleberry, Cooper Castleberry, Ben McKnight, Jonathan Taylor, John Wilson, Ashlee Davis, Katie Croslin, Evan Street and Brady Jones, and his longtime best friend, Breanna Baylis. Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Max and Hariett Wilson, grandfather, Gary Castleberry and his uncle, Jeff Castleberry. Josh had countless friends whom he considered his family. He touched the lives of many with his generous heart and adventurous spirit, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Claremore First Baptist Church in Claremore, Oklahoma, where we invite all who knew him to gather, share stories, and remember the joy he brought into our lives.
