Joy H. (Burrough) Weddington, age 80, of Tulsa, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Born October 13, 1936 in Tulsa, OK was the daughter of the late Herbert R. and Grace A. (McElroy) Burrough.

A 1954 Graduate of Antler, OK High School. Joy received a BA from the University of Tulsa and received her Master's Degree from Northeastern State. She married Ben A. Weddington in 1954. Joy was a longtime member os Asbury United Methodist Church. She taught school at Claremore, Roosevelt, Nimitz and Clinton Junior High Schools. Joy was an active Girl Scout leader for her daughter and grandaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Herbert Roy, Jr. and Charles D. Burrough. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ben, daughter, Joy K. and husband, Fred Ondracek of Tulsa; two sons, Ben A. Weddington, II and wife, Denise, of Fort Worth, TX, John D. Weddington of Tulsa; two granddaughters, Laura Leigh Richardson and Sarah Weddington O'Brien; brother, W.O. Burrough of Springtown, TX.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, June 2, 2017 in Mason Chapel of Asbury United Methodist Church. The family requests contributions in Joy's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2448 E. 81st St, Tulsa, OK 74136.
