Clarice Joy Flemins, 88, passed away January 28, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters and other family. Joy was born in Richland, MO on July 28, 1928. She moved to Oklahoma when she was 18 years old. She worked at the Mayo hotel in the flower shop before becoming a meat wrapper for the UFCW international union. After retiring from McCartney's grocery store she opened a booth at the Great American Flea Market where she worked for 26 years. It was there that she was the happiest. Talking to everyone coming into her booth, making new friends and keeping tabs on the whole building. Joy also loved to travel and visit with her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her laugh would light up a room. Though dementia took her mind and voice from her, it did not take her spirit. She was the strongest person in our family and taught us that strength. She loved her family and we loved her and will miss her deeply. But she has her voice back now and she would tell us to walk with Christ. Joy was a long time member of Sequoyah Baptist Church and a devout Christian. Though she did like the occasional slot machines and bingo.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Lovins, Elaine Roley (husband Tom), Anita Cohen (husband Scott), Teresa Eddie (husband Martin), ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, a sister Deanna Williams and a brother James Williams (wife Margaret)
She is preceded in death by her mother and father Blanche and Harold Williams; Sisters Wanda Lilliard, Bonnie Reeves, Rosetta Birong, Roberta Williams; Brother David Williams.
