Joy Jane Whitaker, 72 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at her residence. She was born April 29, 1943 in Sweetwater, Texas, a daughter of John Wilton Burk and Annie Jane Davis Burk.

Joy married the love of her life, Ronnie Glen Whitaker on July 18, 1960 in Roby, Texas. She was a homemaker and a retired Registered Nurse. Joy was a member of the Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and was loved by those who knew her.

Joy is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Glen Whitaker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one son, John Dudley Whitaker and wife Dianna Lynn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Katie and husband Doyle Jackson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Karen and husband Tim Hightshoe of Fort Worth, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Logan Moore, Caleb Whitaker, Zachary Whitaker, Jacob Jackson, Chandler Jackson, Jeff and Ashley Nobile, Adam and Stephanie Willis, Hannah Hightshoe, Lindsay and Troy Barber; and four great-grandchildren, Kinley Nobile, Jackson Willis, Samantha Barber and Alex Barber. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel with services being held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145 with Rev. Chris Thompson officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Roby Cemetery in Roby, Texas.
