Joyce M. Closkey was called home to be with Our Lord in paradise on January 2, 2018 surrounded by her family in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 76.


Joyce was born June 2nd, 1941 to Charles Guarino and Grace Beller. She grew up at the St. John Evangelical Home for Children. She joined the Women's Army Corps in July 1959 and served until June 1960. In 1960, Joyce married Henry "Bud" Meyer and gave birth to Joseph C. Meyer II in January 1961. Eventually, Joyce and Bud went their separate ways. She was married to Louis F. Closkey from May 1977 until his death in 2016. Joyce was a long time member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church formerly of Philadelphia, PA. Her Pastor, Arthur Boone remained her friend after the church closed.


Joyce was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her son, Joseph C. Meyer and daughter in law, Sallie; Her grandchildren, Irene J Harper and her husband, Toby, Joseph C. Meyer III and his wife, Chrissy, Albert J. Meyer (AJ) and his wife, Kelly, Heidi P. M. Meyer, Rebekah M. Martin and her husband, Devon; Her great grandchildren: Leah, AJ, Liam, Emma, and Conor. She was loved by family and friends in Philadelphia, PA including her sister in law and best friend, Joetta Meyer.


Her family and friends have faith that they will see her again.
