Joyce Edna Jackson, 95, a Tulsa resident since 1946, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Joyce was born September 2, 1922 to George and Eva Bradley in Bedford, England. She graduated from Bedford High School for Girls and served in the LAND Army, in England during WWII, 1940-1945. Joyce was a war bride and sailed out of Bedford, England on February 26, 1946 with her daughter Lynn, on board the Queen Mary R.M.S. They arrived March 2, 1946 in Ellis Island, New York. Joyce was a Computer Systems Analyst for the City of Tulsa from 1955 to 1984. She was a long-time member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and Meals on Wheels. She was also active in America Business Women's Association, Administration Management Society and Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marie Begg and brother, Peter Bradley. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Lynn Bordwine and husband, Louis; son, Peter Jackson and wife, Judy; daughter Valerie Parker and husband, Emerson. Grandchildren, John Bordwine, Jeff Bordwine and Teri Fields. Great-grandchildren, Tyler Bordwine, Jackson Bordwine, Bradley Bordwine, William Bordwine, Olivia Bowles, Stacy Fields, Krystina McCandless, Gavin McCandless and Aaron Jacob McCandless.
Joyce had an adventurous spirit, a steadfast faith and was an especially loving mother who enjoyed playing bridge, needlework and a good cup of tea! The family is forever grateful to the caregivers, friends and extended family at St. Simeon's Assisted Living Tulsa for the care and love she received.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel (918) 622-1155. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2018 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.
