Joyce Irene Moheng, 87, of Tulsa, passed away on November 16, 2018. She was born in South Gate, California to Ethel and Ralph Martinez on December 25, 1930. She married Edward L. Moheng on June 11th, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a wife and homemaker for 4 children.
Joyce Moheng led a full life. She was a tap dancer and actress at a young age. She rode horses on the beaches of California, rode motorcycles and had her own Harley Davidson. She was an Oklahoma Dairy Farm survivor after growing up on the beaches of California. Joyce was adventurous and traveled the Colorado Mountains, Arkansas Mountains and Alaska with a diamond pick digging up gemstones. She made jewelry and fasted gemstones.
Joyce was a pianist and a banjo player and played in the Oregon Trail Banjo Band. She was an accomplished seamstress and also taught Girl Scouts how to sew. She was a Sunday school teacher at the Westville Baptist Church. Joyce was involved in the Martial Arts of Taekwondo in her 50's and 60's, volunteered for the Cancer Society, was a member of both the Red Hat Society and American Sewing Guile Society.
Joyce is preceded in death by husband Edward Moheng; brother, Ralph and his wife, Joyce Martin; brother, Johnny and his wife, Shirley Martin; brother, Richard and his wife, Mary Martin. She is survived by sons, Edward Lee Jr. and his wife, Kay Moheng and Larry and his wife, Suzie Moheng and Chris Moheng; daughter, Darlene Maddux; grandchildren, Lesli and husband, Michael Byford, Kayce, Amanda and her husband, Matt Jones, Brian and his wife Brianne Maddux, Kristi Maddux, Chris Allan Moheng, Cassidy Moheng, and Jessica Moheng; great grandchildren, Ashlee Carter, Michael Jr. Byford, Nicholas Byford, Joseph Byford, Wesley Moheng, Taylor Maddux, Brittney Maddux and Carolina Maddux; great-great grandchildren, Corey Carter, Cali Carter, Jaxson Cotner, Thomas Byford, Carter Byford, and Cash Byford.
Visitation, will be Tuesday, November 20, 2018 6-8pm and the Funeral Service, 2pm, Wednesday, November 21 both at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
