Joyce Ann Williams Pilgrim died Sunday, March 23, 2014.
Joyce was born October 13, 1938 in her parent's home on Dorothy Street in Claremore,
Oklahoma. She was the fourth of five children born to Thurman Scott "Pete" Williams
and Bonnie Gaye Knight Williams. Joyce lived her life in Tulsa, Oklahoma except for 20
months in Gunnison, Colorado when her husband was City Manager and three years in
Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Joyce graduated from Claremore High School in 1956. Joyce went to work February
·1972 for Sooner Pipe & Supply Corporation in Tulsa. She retired from there in
November 1999.
Joyce met Charles Robert "Buddy" Pilgrim Jr. in Tulsa and they were married January
21, 1966 in First Baptist Church parsonage in Claremore. They had a son William
Robert Pilgrim.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, her mother in 1991 and father in
1994, her brother Charles Edward "Tubby" Williams in 1989 and her sister Margaret Lou
Rohr in 2004.
Survivors include her son Bill and wife Melisha of Tulsa; two granddaughters Megan
and Madison; two step-grandchildren Julia and Scott; a grandson to be named Matthew
is due in July 2014; and brothers and sister-in-law T.S. Williams and Freddie David
"Corky" and Sue Williams; all of Claremore. Several nieces and nephews and two great
