Obituary
On the morning of Friday, January 3, 2025, Juanita Doris Thompson Fitzgerald, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 and was received into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Juanita was born on September 12, 1937 in Eunice, NM to Claude A. Thompson, a farmer and pastor, and Sarah Lewis Thompson, a school teacher.
Juanita attended school in various small towns in New Mexico and Oklahoma, graduating from Tulsa Central High School in 1955. She later attended and received certification from Draughon's School of Business as a bookkeeper.
On March 16, 1956, Juanita married Clifford Lee Fitzgerald, an oilfield supply salesman at Lewis Avenue Assembly of God. Together, they raised three children, daughter Teresa, and sons Edward and Roger. Along with Clifford, Juanita was co-owner of Drumright Pump and Supply and Kiefer Pump and Supply, successfully operating the businesses until her retirement in 2006.
In her spare time, Juanita loved to entertain family and friends. Other favorites included music, gardening, playing games, Siamese cats and Arnold's hamburgers. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and world, including an exotic tour of the Kenyan jungle, a cruise down the Amazon River, various European countries, Israel and Middle East, and Viking Cruises especially. She was a long-time member and pianist of the Pawhuska Assembly of God church and Sapulpa First Assembly of God church, active in the WMCs at both. In later years, she also attended Carbondale Assembly of God in Tulsa.
Juanita was preceded in death by her father and mother, and son Roger. She is survived by her husband Clifford, daughter Teresa Pope and husband Bob of Tulsa and son Edward Fitzgerald and wife Sherry of Cushing, OK; six grandchildren: Lauren Grove, Cody Fitzgerald, Kendall Pope, Rachel Mendes, Alexander Fitzgerald and Kenzie Burt; seven great-grandchildren: Logan and Abigail Grove, Griffin Fitzgerald, River Mendes, Declyn, Killian and Marsali Burt.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you please donate to the Parkinson's or the Alzheimer's Foundations in Juanita's name.

Visitation will be 6PM - 8PM, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral Service will be 1PM, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel.
