Obituary

Juanita Chorette Terrell of Tulsa, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 16, 2023, just a few days shy of her 85th birthday. Juanita's family was by her side when she left this world for Heaven. Juanita was born in Ventura, California on September 19, 1938. She was the daughter of Juan and Irene Macias.
Juanita was married to Bill Chorette for over 50 years when he passed in 2006. They shared a wonderful life together and raised 4 children, Bill, Michael, Randall, and Robert Chorette. Juanita enjoyed her career as she worked as a unit secretary for Hillcrest Medical Center and as one of the lead receptionists for an OBGYN's office for many years. The things she loved most was being a homemaker, wife, mother, and "Nanny." She spent many years enjoying these roles the best.
Juanita and Bill enjoyed volunteering at their church in many ways from the coffee ministry to participating in special events hosted by the church. They also volunteered together on Assembly of God Marriage Encounter Weekends in the Tulsa area. Juanita loved spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for "Nanny's famous tacos and macaroni and cheese."
Juanita is survived by her two sons; Randall Chorette and Gwen Benn of Beggs, Oklahoma, and Robert Chorette and his wife Cherilyn of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Felicia Greer and her husband Nathan of Beggs, Oklahoma, Michael Chorette of Las Vegas, Nevada, Amanda Beard and her husband Brett of Yukon, Oklahoma, Nicholas Chorette of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Zachariah Chorette of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two great grandchildren, Ronny Marr and Matthew Greer, two siblings; Rosie Weisshaar of Ventura, California, and John Macias and his wife Jeannie of Sunrise, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bill Chorette; her parents, Juan and Irene Macias; her sons, Bill Chorette and Michael Chorette; her sister, Josie Jaworski, and her second husband of 11 years, Bill Terrell.
A celebration of Juanita's life will occur later in a private graveside service with her immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made in Juanita's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
