Obituary

Judi E. Black of Bixby, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018. She was born July 3, 1941 in Bartlesville, OK to Vernon E. and Alma Burtrelle Irwin Fields. Upon graduation from College High School in Bartlesville in 1959, Judi moved to Tulsa where she completed nurses' training and earned her license to practice as a registered nurse. She served as the head nurse for a group of OB-GYNs for over 30 years.
Judi married the love of her life, Robert M. "Bob" Black, on March 6, 1965 in Tulsa. They were blessed with one son, David M. Black and one daughter, Debra E. Black. All survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Phillip Irwin Fields.
She was an active member of the Living Christmas Tree at the First Baptist Church in Tulsa where she sang at the top of the tree for many years. Following her career as a registered nurse, Judi cared for other children being a nanny nurse for other families. She loved her family and friends; she never knew a stranger and treated everyone like family.
The family would like to thank the teams of doctors and nurses of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK for their care.
Funeral service for Judi will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Moore's Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa, OK. Interment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, OK. Viewing at the chapel will be held on Monday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Mayo Clinic or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
