Julia, better known as Jan to family and friends, was born February 23, 1933 on a farm in Mtn. Grove, MO. She came from a large family, being the second oldest of ten children. At the age of nineteen she was part of a square dance group that achieved many awards and accolades. The highlight was dancing before President Truman, the Reagan's, and other celebrities.
She married Earl Hall on his return from the Korean War and moved to Tulsa, OK, for work and to start a family. She worked for Bell Oil & Gas and American Airlines as a keypunch operator. During this time, they had two children Rhonda and Kelley, six years apart. She gave up her keypunch days to go to cosmetology school and become a hairdresser. Julia and Earl were married for 69 years.
She was an avid bowler and you could find her in numerous leagues during the week. When she wasn't bowling, and in later years, you could find her and dad rooting on the St. Louis Cardinals. They both enjoyed watching all of their grandchildren play softball and baseball. She was a wonderful cook and you could usually find her in the kitchen making her famous pot roast or biscuits and gravy.
Julia has left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on March 16, 2023 at the age of 90. She will be missed by her friends and family.
