Obituary

Julia "Julie" Ann Isley Weaver died on Wednesday May 14, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born on October 14th, 1932 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to her parents Bessie and Verne Isley. She graduated from Wewoka High School in 1950, and then attended the Texas Women's College, where she was chosen to be the Redbud Princess. She then transferred to Oklahoma State University, where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She had remained close to many of her "sisters" in that organization throughout her lifetime.

At Oklahoma State University, she met and married William "Bill" Brooks Weaver on March 15, 1953. Julie and Bill lived in several locations during their marriage, dictated by Bill's work. A few of her favorite homes were in New Orleans, LA, Colorado Springs, CO and Aberdeen, Scotland. She often said their stay in Scotland was a "sparkling little corner of their lives."

Julie modeled for Del Corral Modeling Agency in New Orleans, LA, for Uptown Modeling Agency in Colorado Springs, CO, and for Lisa Layman Agency in Tulsa, OK.

Julie and her close friend owned and operated a lovely antique and gift shop in New Orleans, LA for several years.

Julie and Bill moved to Tulsa, OK in 2005 and were members of the Woodland Acres Baptist Church.

Julie was also a valued "sister" in P.E.O. International (Philanthropic Educational Organization) - Chapter DE in Tulsa. Her "sisters" were so very special and loving.

Julie was also a member of The Women's Auxiliary of the Tulsa's Boys Home.

Julie was preceded in death by: her loving husband Bill; her sister and brother-in-law, Jerry (Isley) and James Harrod; her parents, Bessie and Verne Isley; and her sister-in-law, Jane (Weaver) Stout.

She is survived by her four wonderful sons: Stephen Mark Weaver (Margie) of Tulsa, OK, William Mitchell Weaver (Kimberly) of Sand Springs, OK, Dr. Michael Thomas Weaver (Dawn) of Baton Rouge, LA, and John Richard Weaver of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren: Stephen Weaver of Oklahoma City, OK, Katherine (Weaver) Daniels (Carson) of Atlanta, GA, Benjamin Weaver of New Orleans, LA, Annie (Weaver) Hill (Michael Lane) of Ponchatoula, LA, and Julia (Weaver) Cole (Beau) of New Orleans, LA. She also has precious great grandchildren: Maxwell Mark Weaver, Audrey Jane Weaver (children of Stephen Weaver), Wyatt Charles Daniels (son of Katherine and Carson Daniels); Flynn Michael Weaver (son of Benjamin Weaver) and Lilly Clare Cole (daughter of Julia and Beau Cole).

She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephew: Michael Harrod and his spouse Richard, Leslie (Harrod) Scott (Alan) and Lisa (Harrod) Tucker (Guy), along with their children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday May 29, 2025 from 5-7pm at Moore Funeral Home- Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St. Tulsa, OK 74145. Services will be on Friday May 30, 2025 at 10am at Moore Funeral Home-Southlawn Chapel and Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with a private reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Julie's honor to Woodland Acres Baptist Church, 5511 S. Harvard Ave., Tulsa OK 74135.
