Obituary

Julius Bernard Chapin, age 92, passed away May 17, 2016. Julius was born on October 2, 1923, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. His family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1926. Julius graduated from Central High School in 1942 and he enlisted in the U.S. Army-Air Force after graduation. Serving during World War Il, Julius was stationed in England and worked on aircraft equipment. When the war ended, he worked as a printer and retired from the Newspaper Printing Corporation after 24 years.

In 1951 Julius was married to Dorothy Cox. Julius and Dorothy were very active and enjoyed traveling with their children throughout the United States. They visited Europe several times. They were also members of the Tulsa Organ Club and the American Theatre Organ Society and they enjoyed ballroom dancing on a regular basis.

Julius was preceded in death by Dorothy in 2002. Julius is survived by his two sons, Alfred Chapin, Warren Chapin and his wife Vicki, and his two daughters, Diane Cerchio and her husband, Gerard, and Laura Foshee and her husband, Randy. There are three grandchildren, Charles, Laurence, and Tina, her husband Earin along with two greatgrandchildren, Ellie and Allie.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Moore's Southlawn Chapel at 9350 E. 51 st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com
