Obituary

June Vellene (Reynolds) Gray was born on June 28, 1939, to Vell Madison Reynolds and Franque June Reynolds in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She died on April 7, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

June graduated from Central High School in 1957 and attended The University of Tulsa. She married the love of her life, Charles Gene Gray, on June 28, 1958 and was married for 65 years. Being in a military family, she endured 2 long separations from Charles, while he was in Okinawa during the birth of their first-born, and while he was in Vietnam, she cared for 3 children all by herself.

Charles and June were stationed across the US, and for a total of 9 years in Germany. They moved 13 times in 13 years until settling on their longest assignment in Germany. With each move, she made each place "home". In addition to traveling all across Europe, she also traveled to Israel, Russia, and Bangladesh. They settled in Tulsa in 1977 after Charles' retirement from the Army. She owned The Lion's Den, a European Gift Store in Tulsa from 1977 to 1987.

June could create beauty in everything. She could paint, do calligraphy, play the piano, sing, sew, needlepoint, knit, crochet, tat, dye Ukrainian eggs, bead, and many other handcrafts. If she didn't know it, she would learn it. She could even take a tumbleweed and make it beautiful.

June was a Christian who loved serving the Lord through music, word, and deed. Her greatest desire was that all of her family and everyone she encountered would come to know the love of Jesus Christ and follow Him.

She enjoyed being with her loving family which included:

Her Husband: Charles

Sons: David (Kathy) Gray, Duane (Lorrie) Gray

Daughter: Dawn Dobson

13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Judith Ann (Reynolds) Soward.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday 11 April, 2024, at 11:00am at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
