Kathleen Fassino Beard passed through on September 25, 2016. She now rejoices uniting with her Lord and Savior along with many friends and love ones. She was born July 20, 1921, in McAlester, OK to parents Joseph and Emille Colin Fassino. After college, Kathleen worked at First National Bank. She met her husband, Wilbin "Bill" Beard at a First National Bank Company party when Bill finally got the nerve to ask her to dance. They married on December 14, 1943 and were married 69 years. They continued dancing throughout their lives. They had two children, Michael James Beard and Margaret Elaine Martinson.
Kathleen had many friends and enjoyed several activities, at the top were bridge and tennis. She was a member of Philcrest Hills Tennis Club. She had a very unique powerful backhand. Kathleen served many organizations including Salvation Army (President of Auxiliary), Community Chest, Saint Francis Auxiliary, First Presbyterian Women, (served as Moderator), and Deacon at First Presbyterian Church where she was a lifelong member. Kathleen and Bill were lifelong supporters of the University of Tulsa Football and Basketball teams.
They lived their lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma where they raised their children. Their greatest joy was their 6 grandchildren who grew up in Tulsa. They spent many hours and vacation trips watching their grandchildren in all kinds of events including tennis, soccer, basketball, football, gymnastics and school activities.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, her brother Joe Basolo, her sister Jane Sullivan and her two beautiful sisters Aimee Ramay and Angele Whetsell who helped raise her.
Kathleen is survived by son Michael Beard and wife Susie, daughter Margaret Beard Martinson and husband Bill, grandchildren Chris Beard and wife Lindsay, Dusty Beard and wife Julie, Andra Beard Nelson and husband Roy, Jeff Martinson and wife Roxanne, Lindsey Martinson Boesch and husband Josh, Heidi Martinson Shahtaji and husband Eric: 12 great grandchildren, 9 boys and 3 girls.
Kathleen had a blessed life and now resides in the arms of Christ.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, 709 S. Boston Ave., Tulsa, OK at 2:00pm. In lieu of Flowers the family requests donations be made to the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless, Inc. Moore's Southlawn, 918-663-2233 share memories at
